As a result of this type of vital and valuable impact that exists in love and friendship, people must give direction and must guide their love towards suitable and appropriate destination. In this respect the holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) has directed and concentrated the love and friendship of the entire human being towards the holy household (peace be upon them) so that the pollution of each an individual is purified through this means and also to create good and valuable attributes in them in order to make them closer to Almighty Allah.
Therefore love for the holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) and that of his holy household (peace be upon them) is having wondrous and extra-ordinary impact in making one closer to Almighty Allah to the extent in narrations, love for the holy household of the holy Prophet (peace be upon them) is counted and regarded as one of the best means of getting nearer and closer to Almighty Allah.
The holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) in narration said:
Every thing has its master, my love and the love of Ali (peace be upon him) is a master by which the obedient servant who wanted to be closer to Almighty Allah use as their worship.
This narration is clear evidence that love for the holy household of the holy Prophet (peace be upon them) is a means of obedience to the commandment of Almighty Allah. The holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) in another narration said:
Love for Hadrat Ali bn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) burns the sin just as the fire burns the wood.
Base on this, loving Imam Ali, the commander of the faithful (peace be upon him) burns the existing sin and befriending to that great man changes the mountain of ones sin to chaff likewise it will exit the sin from you and destroy it.
Love for the commander of the faithful (peace be upon him) did not only destroy the sign of the previous sins rather it is a firm and strong obstruction that prevent person from committing future sin. Because by loving the holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his progeny) and his holy household (peace be upon them) you have prevented yourself from committing sin likewise it can insured you from that.
The holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) in this respect said:
Surely, who ever love Ali (peace be upon him) will not vacate this world until he drink the holy pond of Kauthar, and he will eat from blessed Tuba and will envisage his abode in the paradise.
Therefore we must seek from Almighty Allah to preserve and establish our love for the holy household of the Prophet (peace be upon them) till the last moment of our life, so that we witness the favor which He has promised us.
It came in one of the visitation of Imam Husain (peace be upon him) as follow:
O’ Allah make me firm in the love of good friends of yours.
In a situation whereby with love and keenness of the holy household of the holy Prophet (peace be upon them) we deposited our life to their love, the first moment of our death is the moment whereby we shall envisage the impact and the tremendousness of the love which is a sign of faith and God fearing.
Love for the holy household of the holy Prophet (peace be upon them) in some narrations is regarded and counted as the principle of faith; just as hatred and enmity with this great men is regarded and counted as unbelieving and hypocrisy.
The holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) in this aspect said to the commander of the faithful (peace be upon him):
O’ Ali loving you is God fearing and faith and your hatred is unbelieving and hypocrisy.
According to the perspective of our creed who ever is having enmity with the commander of the faithful (peace be upon him) is regarded as unbeliever and he is in the row of those that denied Almighty Allah.
Those who are not friend to Ali are disbeliever
Whether he is the ascetic of the time and the sheikh of the path
Likewise the people who are having the love of Ali (peace be upon him) inside his life enjoys fear of Allah and faith.
Definitely love and hatred are having this type of fundamental impact.
If you want strong proof from the heart and the soul;
They are the shown twelve people who are the option of my creed;
They are three Muhammad and four Alis’
Together with Musa, Ja’afar, Husain and the two Hassan
Imam Rida (peace be upon him) has reported a narration from his father and the father from the holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) that he said:
Love for the holy household cleanses the sin and double the good deeds.
Therefore love is an elixir that is having power of breaking things and it is also a fragile that breaks the traces of sins and changes them to good deeds just as a firm vermilion change copper to gold. In this respect, they considered love to be “spiritual elixir” so the souls that was polluted and the psychology that is far from Almighty Allah due to the effect of sin, with the love for the holy household of the holy Prophet (peace be upon them) who is the savior and life giving to the dead hearts shall revive your nearness to Almighty Allah and by abstinence from sin you will be very close to Almighty Allah.
Therefore the heart that is overflowing with the love for the commander of the faithful (peace be upon him) and the other purified household of the holy Prophet (peace be upon them) will not have chance for committing sin; rather if there is increase in their love, the previous committed sins by the lover can be destroy and also prevent him from future sin. Definitely preventing one from future sin is easier than to obviate the traces of the previous committed sins.
The secret of this issue is that person who is completely friend, lover and enamored of the infallible holy household of the Prophet (peace be upon them) will be among the beloved one to Almighty Allah and will be closer to Him; and anytime one has become the beloved and closed one to Almighty Allah, he will be at the fortress of the power and strength of Almighty Allah. Which means Almighty Allah will create a hindrance between him and sin. Meanwhile Allah will create energy and power in him and shall act base on His wish likewise He will make him to be successful in carrying out all his actions. That is the meaning of “there is no power or strength except that of Almighty Allah”. That is the reason why some people are of the believe that, love and friendship with the holy household of the holy Prophet (peace be upon them) is considered and counted as one of the most effected way to journey in devotion to Almighty Allah (Seir wa Suluk).
Base on an extensive narration that was reported by late Allamah Majlisi (may Allah have mercy on him) in Bihar al-Anwar volume 70 page 25 from Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him); if the lover has reach the elevated rank of love even though he has not passed through the path of the scholars, wise men and the path of the truthful ones and his method is not like the aforementioned group of people; but he will obtain what the scholar, the wise men and truthful ones has obtained.
This type of impact is in a situation whereby the love has become intensive like the kind of love that is possessed by the friends of the holy household of the holy Prophet (peace be upon them). Definitely this kind of love is possessing such importance that Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) in the narration explicitly said that those who has possessed it does not only be in the most fruitful path of journey in devotion to Almighty Allah (Seir wa Suluk); rather it is the only way that is not having dangerousness whereas the methods and the paths of the scholars, wise men and the truthful ones according to the narration is not like that.
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said:
Verily the wise men inherit wisdom through silence, and the scholars inherit their knowledge through quest and demand, while the truthful ones inherit their truthfulness through submissiveness and lengthy worship of Almighty Allah; whoever is overtaken by this path, he is either become low or he is elevated, but many of them did not elevates rather they become low because they did not observed the right of Almighty Allah and did not act base on His commandment; this attribute is for those who did not know the right of Almighty Allah as expected and did not love Him as expected (i.e. those people you deem to be scholar, wise men and truthful one); so you should not be deceived by their prayer, fasting, narrations and their knowledge because they are non-domestic horse.
As it was clearly stated in this narration; the scholars, wise men and truthful ones were criticized that they were not in reality of cognizance of Almighty Allah and the real love of Almighty Allah is not in their heart.
If the lover has elevated to high rank in love and his heart which is the sanctum of Almighty Allah was filled up with the love of the infallible holy household of the holy Prophet (peace be upon them); there will be no possibility of destabilization in him so far their intensive love is in his heart.
The only situation whereby there is possibility for the love of the lovers to change is when they have relinquished the origin of love; if not if the root of love is in the heart of the lover, he will be in the course of increase, elevation and perfection and not plummeting and destabilizing.
The secret of this point as we’ve said is that an intensive love and enthusiasm is like magnet and so far the love is there, the lover shall be attracted towards the beloved one and as at the time he is attracted by the beloved one, the compatibility in him will be clear and obvious while the sign and the attribute of the beloved one will be seen in the lover. This narration in this respect has introduced and defined love for Almighty Allah and His good servants as the best and the less dangerous way for the individuals who has inclination towards journey to devotion to Almighty Allah (Seir wa Suluk).
In another narration, the beloved ones are mentioned to be the foremost before other individual just as the narration that came from Hadrat Da’ud (peace be upon him) that Almighty Allah said:
No one will love Me and I know that the love is with certainty from his mind until I accept him for Myself and I will love him with such love that there is no foremost before him among My creature; whoever sincerely demanded for Me shall surely meet Me and whoever demanded for other than Me shall not find Me…
We understood from this holy narration that the people who are foremost before the entire people and have attained the highest rank of love are the people who has accepted the leader of the time (May Almighty Allah hasten his relief), as the successor, the representative of Almighty Allah, he is the server and that he is honored with his company and likewise prefer the Imam more than others.
